Jesuit High School Sacramento hosted its annual Open House on October 22, welcoming many middle school students to campus to get a glimpse into the brotherhood. Despite battling rain, the event was a thriving success.

Assistant Director of Admissions Mr. Jonathan Isaac applauds the resourcefulness from everyone who helped make the Open House a great experience. He believes that everyone’s effort shone through the weather to all those who attended.

“This particular Open House showed the versatility of our staff and facility,” Mr. Issac said. “The ability of our faculty and staff to pivot during the rain storm emphasized not only our great facilities here on campus, but the quick thinking of all the people who care for the young men on this campus.”

In addition to the hard work of everyone involved in the Open House, Mr. Isaac thinks that the interactions with visiting families were fruitful.

“Teachers and coaches were able to have personal conversations with families beyond the scope of their academic and athletic expertise.” Mr. Isaac said, “I was really happy with tours, that group was dialed in, from the faculty mentoring to the student tour guides”

President of the Super Smash Bros. Club Charles Naggiar ’25 was glad to talk about what Jesuit has to offer to the many people he encountered.

“I had some very in-depth dialogues with some parents about the classes and cocurriculars offered, and it felt extremely fulfilling to know that I was able to educate them about Jesuit’s strengths as a school,” Charles said.

Like Mr. Isaac, Director of Admissions Mr. Matthew Ramos ’05 enjoyed seeing the attendees and Jesuit representatives bonding over the event, and he believes that the rain actually enhanced the Open House experience.

“The tour experience was great,” Mr. Ramos said. “The open environment was great and people had really positive comments about Jesuit. I felt like the rain brought us a little bit closer. Everybody was having deeper conversations, and [Open House] served exactly the purpose we wanted it to.”

With Open House, many prospective families were shown the opportunities Jesuit offers, as well as the closeness of the brotherhood. The rain was no issue thanks to the strong-willed efforts of the faculty, staff, and students who excellently represented what it means to be a “Man for Others.”
