Frequently Asked Questions about Getting Financial Help for Tuition
How do I apply for Tuition Assistance?
Jesuit High School contracts with Tuition Aid Data Service (TADS) to process all tuition assistance applications (www.mytads.com). The application fee for the 2020-2021 school year is $34 payable to TADS. The TADS deadline is January 7, 2020.
How is the Tuition Assistance decision made?
We consider many factors, such as a family’s income, assets, number of family members in the household, and unusual expenses or circumstances. TADS provides the Tuition Assistance Committee with individualized reviews of the data based on information the family provides; Jesuit then works with the family to determine the amount of demonstrated need and the family’s expected contribution. Because everyone’s circumstances are unique, it’s difficult to summarize the many financial aspects that exist.
Our family has multiple children attending Jesuit and St. Francis. Do I have to complete an application for each student?
No, just one application per family. You may associate your application to other schools (including grammar schools who use TADS) at the end of the online application.
When will we be informed of the Tuition Assistance decision?
For incoming freshman applicants who have completed the process in a timely manner, the tuition assistance decision letters will be mailed with your Offer of Admission decision letter in February 2020. For returning students, the tuition assistance decision letters will be mailed in March 2020.
The due date is here and I don’t have a tax return filed…what do I do?
Complete the application online (www.mytads.com). Upload your most recent Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ (as filed with the IRS, with all schedules), W-2, 1099/1099R or 1098 for any wage-earning adult residing with the applicant(s).
We are Divorced, how do I/we apply for Tuition Assistance?
For separated or divorced families, each separate household who is financially responsible for tuition must submit an application in order to be considered for tuition assistance for their portion of tuition.
What if I missed the TADS deadline?
Meeting the deadline is critical. We have a limited amount of funding available. Applicants who file a completed application by the deadline get priority consideration. Late applicants will be considered after the initial applications are processed.
