Sam May ’12 Physics Presentation (Welcome Center)

In the Welcome Center, at 1:55 pm during Community Period, please join physicist and Jesuit High School Alum Sam May (2012). He will be sharing information about his exciting work in the field of particle physics at the Large Hadron Collider, or LHC in Geneva, Switzerland. The LHC is the largest particle collider ever built, and is an approximately 30km circular ring underground, located in Geneva, Switzerland. Sam’s current project, the CMS experiment, is a detector that is located at one of the collision points along the LHC. It’s built to measure a wide variety of particles that are produced in the proton-proton collisions.
