Ms. Faubert brings energy and passion to the class
Jesuit High School Sacramento is excited to welcome Ms. Norma Faubert to its Spanish department this year. Ms. Faubert previously worked in the Roseville School District as a translator.
Her decision to come to Jesuit was motivated by our commitment to service and high-achieving education.
“I was more inspired to come and work at Jesuit because [of] the phrase: ‘Man for others’,” Ms. Faubert said. “So that really was very magic for me because it’s the commitment for academics and excellence.”
Head of Languages Ms. Kristie Quillen believes Ms. Faubert will bring bubbly energy to the Spanish department.
“Her energy and passion for the Spanish language and Mexican Culture is an asset to Jesuit,” Ms. Quillen said. “She is very animated and energetic in the way she speaks and delivers her lessons.”
Ms. Faubert intends to bring varied approaches to her classroom in order to effectively teach her students.
“I use a lot of different methods to teach my classes,” Ms. Faubert said. “I integrate technology a lot. We do a lot of different presentations. They have to record themselves. I also do a lot of cultural activities.”
As she begins her first year of teaching at Jesuit, Ms. Faubert is looking to build close relationships with her staff and students. She hopes to open doors for students to become bilingual.
“I want my students to understand that being bilingual is a gift, not everyone can handle two languages,” Ms. Faubert said. “It’s something that can open doors, and I want them to have a sense of appreciation about it.”
