Technology for the community
Despite having a beautiful campus, Jesuit High School Sacramento had been seeing a noticeable increase in trash in the months before the school moved to remote learning. To combat the trash dilemma, Michael Equi ’20, along with the Bytes Robotics team, worked for months on a new robot called “Garbage Bytes” to serve as a mobile trash can.

The pursuit of prosperity and power led to the boom of the American economy, but it was not without its corruption. The period epic There Will Be Blood directed by Paul Thomas Anderson comments on this through the ambitious and fervently-driven oil miner, Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis).

Trench warfare is a hellish nightmare, and Sam Mendes’ film “1917” captures that terror and anxiety with its harrowing long takes and immersive set design. Yet, where visuals and sound prevail, the story declines.

Everyone knows the famous saying “the grass is greener on the other side.” This proverb, however, is challenged by Korean director Bong Joon-ho in his film, “Parasite,” which pits the different classes of society together in his darkly comedic thriller.
Students participate in annual Christmas Food Drive
During the cold winter, hundreds of thousands of families celebrate the holidays with food insecurity. Jesuit High School’s Christmas Food Drive helps to provide for these families from Dec. 2 to 13.
“Mr. Worldwide”
Amongst being a world traveller and skilled mathematician, Mr. Nicholas Llanos has come to Jesuit High School to bring his active yet relaxed teaching style to the school.
After teaching Integrated Math at Grant High School, Mr. Llanos became dissatisfied with the personal interaction with the district, causing him to look for opportunities elsewhere.
