We are so excited for you to begin your journey at Jesuit High School and we understand that there is a lot to learn coming into a new school.  Know that we are here to help in this journey and can’t wait for you to experience all the wonderful activities that we have to offer.  Below are some resources to help guide the daily experience at our school.

“Questions are a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness at Jesuit High School.  All of our faculty and staff are here to help you on your journey, so don’t hesitate to reach out and ask for support.”

Dr. Michael Wood

Athletics

Athletics offers a fun and exciting way to make new friends and get involved at Jesuit.  Come join a legacy of excellence!  If your student is interested in participating in a sport, please indicate his sports interest when registering in FinalForms.  Coaches will contact students on this interest list with important dates and additional details.

All Freshman are required to submit a physical to be on campus and to be eligible to participate in Jesuit’s athletic programs.  Physicals must be renewed each year to participate in athletics.  Please note that physicals expire 365 days from evaluation.

Visit the Athletics page for information about teams, coaches contact, news, and more!

  • Fall sports – cross country, football, water polo
    • Football and cross country start optional conditioning work-outs in mid-June.
  • Winter sports – basketball, soccer, wrestling
  • Spring sports -  baseball, golf, lacrosse, rugby, swim/dive, tennis, track and field, volleyball

“Jesuit Athletics is a great way to get engaged with the school community and develop yourself as an athlete and leader on campus. Every student that joins a Jesuit athletic program is joining a program that has a long history of athletic excellence and success in the Sacramento region.  You will join thousands of Marauders that have competed at a high level, including collegiate, professional, and Olympic.”

                Hank Weinberger, Athletic Director

Technology

Technology is an important way for our students to stay connected on campus. Students will use Google Classroom and PowerSchool (both set-up during Orientation) to have access to their teachers, fellow students, and assignments. Your Jesuit email address is your direct line to school updates, activities, teacher/school communications, and more.  A bit of advice to every Freshman… don’t forget to check your email!

Jesuit’s Bring Your Own Device program (BYOD) allows students the ability to stay connected with a device of their choosing.  To learn more, reference the links below:

Bring all your tech and BYOD questions to our upcoming information sessions: Welcome Night on April 28th and Parent Survival Skills 101 on July 14th.

Volunteering

To promote the spirit of volunteering and service, all families are asked to commit to 25 hours of service for Jesuit High School’s various fundraising, athletic & partner events. Volunteering is a great way to meet new families in the community and participate in your son’s experience.  Learn more.

Another great way for parents to get involved is through our parent organizations.  Check out the Boosters Club and Loyola Guild websites for more information!

Advancement

It is through the generosity of our families and benefactors that Jesuit High School is able to bridge the gap between tuition and the full cost of a Jesuit High School education.  Our goal for the Annual Fund is 100% parent participation from our current families, and we appreciate your contribution!

Please keep an eye on the calendar for our Freshman/Transfer Parent Welcome Event in the fall (multiple dates). Attendance is required.

Parent/Guardian RSVP

Parents/Guardians, please RSVP by Friday, August 12

About the Retreat

One of the highlights of your student’s Freshman year will be his Freshman Retreat, on August 20, 2022, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Because the experience of the Freshman Retreat is so important for new students, participation in the entire retreat is MANDATORY for all Freshmen.

The retreat is led by a group of 100 Seniors who have been trained as retreat leaders. This retreat occurs early in the school year because it is a significant opportunity for Freshmen to develop as a community of friends, to understand the traditions of Jesuit education, and to believe themselves to be a vital part of the Jesuit High School family. Parents and Guardians also have an orientation and lunch on Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and are encouraged to then join us at 5:00 pm for the Freshman Family Mass. Special additional details for parents and guardians are included in the RSVP confirmation email.

Big Brothers

When you start your freshman year at Jesuit you are partnered with a senior. During orientation, he will help guide you through everything from lockers to mass. A good mentor can help your transition to your new school by connecting you and helping you navigate.
