Jesuit High School Extends President Alling’s Leadership Through 2028

The Jesuit High School of Sacramento Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that President Chris Alling has signed a new three-year contract, extending his leadership through at least June 2028.

President Alling, who began his tenure in 2023, has quickly become a trusted and inspiring leader within the Jesuit Sacramento community. The Board is deeply appreciative of his service and confident in the school’s continued growth and mission-driven excellence under his guidance.

Magis Service Recognition
2024-2025 School Year

Fr. Peter Hans Kolvenbach, SJ, former Superior General of the Society of Jesus (“The Jesuits”) said:

“Students, in the course of their formation, must let the gritty reality of this world into their lives, so they can learn to feel it, think about it critically, respond to its suffering and engage it constructively. They should learn to perceive, think, judge, choose and act for the rights of others, especially the disadvantaged and the oppressed. . . .[T]he measure of Jesuit [schools] is not what our students do but who they become and the adult Christian responsibility they will exercise in future towards their neighbor and their world. For now, the activities they engage in, even with much good effect, are for their formation. This does not make the [school] a training camp for social activists. Rather, the students need close involvement with the poor and the marginal now, in order to learn about reality and become adults of solidarity in the future.”

The Office of Service and Justice at Jesuit High School recognizes and affirms the good work of the following students, each of whom completed more than twice the amount of service required for his grade level.

This makes sure you get early communications from the coaching staff about practices, gear, and meetings. You can check as many as you wish, and it is easy to update if he changes his mind. It is not a commitment, just a request for more information as it becomes available.
Make sure you are all green. Green means you have completed an item in FinalForms. Participation with a team will not be permitted without all the forms being signed. Red = parent signature, yellow = student signature.

Parent Survival Skills 101
Save the Date for this helpful family event in the Welcome Center

Our annual Parent Survival Skills 101 event is on Thursday evening, July 10, in the Welcome Center. This presentation is an opportunity for parents/guardians to have questions answered with regard to technology, textbooks, dress code, and more. No RSVP is needed.

“So helpful! I left this event feeling like I had the inside scoop …I was no longer overwhelmed by this big transition to high school.”

This event is not mandatory, and while targeted to our new families, any current family is welcome to attend if they wish.

Need a lift during the holidays? Cards are available for pick up in the main office and at most Sacramento Country public libraries. Valid now through June 30, 2025, cards allow TK-12th grade students to ride the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT fixed-route buses, light rail, and SmaRT Ride on-demand microtransit service for FREE!

Students Serving During the Summer

As part of our curriculum at Jesuit High School, Freshman-Seniors are required to engage in service each year. We encourage service to be incorporated into each student’s everyday life.

Rising Sophomores and Juniors can work towards fulfilling their year-long service requirement during the summer. They are welcome to begin service to count towards the next academic year the day after Final Exams conclude. Students should follow all guidelines explained during the orientations they received in their English 1 (Freshmen) or Theology 2B (Sophomores) classes.
