Parents and Friends,
Advent is a time when we are reminded that God is with us. It is also a time of anticipation where we await Christ’s light. We experience this season of remembrance and anticipation at Jesuit High School in various ways – music, ministry, and activities.
12 National Merit Commended Students
Scored among top 50,000 of all PSAT test takers
Previously we celebrated our four National Merit Semi-finalists; this week, we are proud to share and celebrate our 12 National Merit Commended Students! These students were among the top 50,000 of all PSAT test takers last year, which signifies a wonderful achievement and bodes well for their success on other standardized tests like the SAT. Please join us in congratulating the following members of the Class of 2023 on being National Merit Commended Students:
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
Three Jesuit Marauders Selected
Congratulations to three members of the senior class who have been named Semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition: Dylan Tsoi, Charles Sander, and Enoch Cheng.
The first level of the competition is based on performance on the PSAT from last year; all 16,000 Semi-finalists will now apply for Finalist status and then be considered for one of the prestigious National Merit Scholarships. We celebrate what Enoch, Charles, and Dylan have already achieved and wish them continued success in this competition!

October is usually the time when many families finalize their holiday plans for November and December. We want to take this opportunity to strongly recommend that you plan vacations to coincide with the holiday breaks so your student does not miss school days or class time.

October means we are kicking off admissions season, where we proudly share the mission of Jesuit High School and the incredible opportunities it affords our students. You, our current parents, and students are our greatest ambassadors, so I ask that you spread the word and invite prospective families to discover Jesuit!
Outdoor School Activities Adjusted Due To Excessive Heat Warning
Health and Safety Update
Due to the extreme heat continuing this week in the Sacramento Region, Jesuit High School is adjusting all outdoor activities. The schedule changes follow Sacramento County Public Health and Department of Emergency Services’ recommendation to postpone or cancel outdoor events.

Weekly Update – August 25, 2022
It has been a wonderful start to our school year – faculty, students, and parents have spent time together at orientations, Mass of the Holy Spirit, and our freshman retreat. Student life and activities are now beginning, and our student-athletes are ready to head into competitions. Athletics is looking forward to another great year – with a record number of freshmen participating in sports! The frosh football team has 82 players!
