The Advantages of Single-Gender Schools
Schools for boys understand boys and focus on building good men
There are many advantages of single-gender schools, both academically and spiritually. Should Your Child Take Advanced Placement (AP) Classes?
Advanced Placement (or AP) classes are college level courses for high school students. The benefits of AP classes are integral to a student’s success in college. Students who take AP classes will be better prepared to tackle college-level curriculum and can earn credit for introductory college courses during high school. As a college preparatory institution, Jesuit High School of Sacramento encourages all students to take advanced placement courses.

Leadership outlines the framework for trainings, bell schedule and additional virus mitigation practices to open school
Message from the Jesuit High School Leadership,
From the start of the pandemic, Jesuit High School Sacramento has followed the guidance of experts in public health, coordinated with local and state authorities, and committed to a return to campus when it is deemed safe to do so. With the improvement in Sacramento County COVID status to the red tier, Jesuit Sacramento is preparing to begin our phased return to campus. While our remote-learning program has been successful, our students need and want to be on campus; all of us at Jesuit Sacramento have been preparing to reintegrate into in-person learning, but we will only do so in a manner that prioritizes safety, sanity, and sustainability.

The start of school
Dear Parents, Students and Friends,
Due to the current state of the coronavirus in Sacramento County and the requirements imposed by state officials, Jesuit cannot reasonably plan for in-person learning by the start of the school year. We are sure this comes as no surprise given the new school guidelines and 14-day COVID status timeframe we shared last week.

Dean’s response — a letter to our students
Reflections on Violence and Unrest
“Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:31
To our Marauders – our students:
My heart is heavy. After speaking with several students, parents, and members of the faculty and staff over the last few days I wanted to reach out to you personally and directly. Let me start by saying that I unequivocally condemn the death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and many others. This is not and should not be a political statement but rather a matter of basic human dignity.

Updates from all departments to carry us through the end of the academic year.
Blessings to you and your families as we enter into the Easter Triduum. It will likely come as no surprise that Jesuit must formally announce that we will not be able to return to campus for the remainder of this academic year. This decision was made based on guidance from both state officials and local health officials, and in coordination with other local school districts, all of whom have also extended distance learning through the end of the school year.
Opinion: Looking back at a crimson and gold decade
Brightened by a myriad of student accomplishments, the 2010s at Jesuit High School Sacramento were a decade of brilliance and reinvention, filled with stories of thrilling victories, dazzling performances, and breakthroughs that changed our community.
Drivers, drive-ins, and rides
Every morning and afternoon, hundreds of students and dozens of teachers and faculty flood in and out of Jesuit High School’s parking lots. For most, the lots are just a symbol of commuting drudgery, a dull back-and-forth between school and home. For others, the lots, as well as the commutes, hold their most prized possessions — their cars.
