Tim’s at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival Helm

Jesuit Drama alum Tim Orr ‘91 (Moonface in Anything Goes, R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods, to name just a few roles) is currently at the helm of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder Colorado as their Producing Artistic Director.

Andrew is a Party Animal

Andrew Perez writes . . .

“For the month of April, I will be touring with The Party Animals as we perform for the kids and families on Armed Forces bases overseas. I feel crazy lucky to have this opportunity and to get to give even just a little bit back to the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.”

Peter conducts “A Chorus Line”
Working in the arts in NYC

Peter Hodgson (Achilles in America, Urinetown, Sweeny Todd) is currently studying at NYU’s Tisch Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program on scholarship.  He is a graduate from NYU Steinhardt with a degree in Music Theory and Composition where he studied with Grammy Award winner Herschel Garfein.

His latest project is with RoundTable Theatre, coordinating the music for their upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A Chorus Line.

Kelley goes to Carnegie!

Jesuit Drama alum Kelley Jakle (The Princess Bride, Heaven Can Wait, Urinetown, Move) will be a soloist at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, March 29th at 2:00pm.

Since graduating, Kelley has worked in film (Pitch Perfect, 42), television (The Sing Off!), and theater (Spring Awakening).

Alum Spotlight: Greta Gerwig
"Oz's" Dorothy is "Starry-Eyed"

Greta Gerwig, “Dorothy” in Jesuit Drama’s 2002 The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, is featured in the book Starry Eyed: 16 Stories that Steal the Spotlight, an anthology of personal anecdotes from “some of today’s most celebrated performers.”  The collection highlights “the troubles, hopes, failures and triumphs of young aspiring singers, dancers, actors, actresses and performers.”

Greta most recently starred in the 2012 film Frances Ha.

Alum Spotlight: Actor Matt Huffman in NYC Premiere

Jesuit Drama alum Andrew Perez, who fight-choreographed the ninja piece “Park” for last season’s Move2, is featured in the Bee’s Arts & Entertainment cover story about his role as a professional grappler in The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, a popular new play running at Cap Stage.

Alum Spotlight: Jon Wagner ‘95
Working and Playing in Chicago

Jon has spent the last 12 years traveling the country as a writer, actor and musician. Favorite roles include “Barry” in High Fidelity, “Mercutio/Gary” in The People vs. Friar Laurence and “Jaime” in The Last 5 Years. Improv credits include Baby Wants Candy, I Eat Pandas, ComedySportz, Infinite Sundaes, one of The Second City’s National Touring Companies, and two years serving as the music director for the Chicago Improv Festival. Jonathan is a faculty member at Chicago’s legedary Second City Training Center.
